The Minister of Sports has instructed the Cameroonian Football Federation to do everything possible to make the national team shine at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. Indeed, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, chaired a preparatory meeting for the CAN on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the conference hall of his ministerial department.

“After studying various issues related to the organization of this expedition, I have instructed FECAFOOT to do everything possible so that the national team shines with its fighting spirit and its ability to dazzle the sports-loving public, demonstrating once again that ‘impossible’ is not Cameroonian,” said the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education in a statement.

The preparatory meeting for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire was attended by Ambassador Roger Milla, various stakeholders, including officials from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), and other partner administrations.

The main objective of the meeting was to address all aspects related to the upcoming participation of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

It is worth noting that this preparatory meeting was convened a month before the kickoff of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

The competition is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024. Cameroon is placed in Group C along with Senegal, Guinea, and Gambia.

The teams of Group C (Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea, and Gambia) will be in Yamoussoukro for the group stage of the competition, which promises to be highly competitive.

For this competition, several teams are considered favorites for the continental title. The host country, Côte d’Ivoire, the defending champion (Senegal), Morocco, which reached the semi-finals of the last World Cup, Cameroon, and Algeria are particularly mentioned as the top contenders in this competition.
